Joel Murphy is CEO of Eight Cap and is a Director of the Australian CFD & FX Association.

 

Joel Murphy has been part of the Australian Retail FX landscape for the past 5 years working in senior roles at Pepperstone and Go Markets before taking over management and relaunching Eightcap in 2015.

 

Prior to entering the Retail FX space, Joel focused on equities and derivatives in roles at ANZ, Goldman Sachs and Bendigo & Adelaide bank.

 

Joel Murphy obtained bachelor degrees in Commerce and Arts from Monash University.

MATTHEW MURPHIE

Matthew Murphie is CEO of FP Markets and is a Director of the Australian CFD & FX Association. Matthew has worked in the finance industry for 17 years.

 

He started in the CFD & Margin FX industry in 2003 and became a Director of FP Markets as well as a Responsible Manager on the company’s license in 2005. He has led the company from its inception and steered its direction to become one of the largest DMA businesses in Australia.

 

Prior to joining the CFD industry Matthew worked in a derivatives risk management role at investment bank Merrill Lynch.

 

Matthew holds a Bachelor of Economics from Macquarie University as well as a number of industry accreditations.

Peta Stead

PETA STEAD

Group Head of Regulatory Affairs, Pepperstone

 


 

Peta Stead is currently Group Head of Regulatory Affairs at Pepperstone and is a Director of the Australian CFD & FX Association.

 

Prior to working at Pepperstone she worked for the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) in their policy area & in various teams that supervised investment banking, credit rating agencies, hedge funds and complex products. For 7 years she was with the team responsible for monitoring the retail OTC derivatives industry (including margin FX, CFDs, and binary options) and was involved with many of the reforms and actions in the CFD and FX industry.

 

Before joining ASIC Peta worked for a company that designed the world’s first systems to trade ASX and SFE products over the Internet where she was involved in both the technical side of the business and the marketing/client liaison side.

 

Peta holds a Bachelor of Laws and Legal practice with honours from Flinders University, a Graduate Diploma in Scientific Communication from the ANU, and an Honours degree and Bachelor of Science in Physics.
